Stephen T. Mather High School Grower Space Design and Branding

In partnership with Stephen T. Mather High School, the grower space project was developed to address the specific needs of our community partner. Our objective was to create a responsive design that incorporates community input and meets the requirements of the students who will utilize the space. This space is intended to provide high school students with the opportunity to efficiently develop skills for their landscape management course on Governors Island.

The primary focus of the grower space was to design a modular grower box, a shade system, and a cohesive brand identity that integrates both the National Park Service and Stephen T. Mather High School's identities. To develop these deliverables, we began with a site analysis of the space we were working with. We then conducted a community session with the high schools, which included a community diary, a listening session, and a co-creation workshop.
